Notes from the HC-ARES Net 2/26/2009 - Thursday, April 09, 2009

Recent HC-ARES Net announcements and comments that should be shared with all...

  • It was decided that (2) new Forums would be created on this site: 1) a forum dedicated to the development and training of operators for proper Net Control Station procedures. Please keep an eye on this as we will be adding reference documents and links to support discussion and make announcements regarding actual meetings/table-tops for purposes of developing our skill-sets in this vital discipline. 2) APRS and its use in Tactical /Mobile Command scenarios has come to the attention of Hamilton County Emergency professionals... ARES has considerable knowledge in the practical application of this technology and this forum will be dedicated to the discussion of its application for Emergency and Public Service Event deployments.
  • Rial Sloan/AI4ZV joined us from Tunnel Hill and invited all interested to partcipate in the Whitfield County ARES weekly Net on Sundays at 9:00pm on the 147.135- Dalton repeater.  He encouraged us to cultivate a strong relationship between our groups... Please visit them and show we are interested in improving on interoperability between our two ARES groups.
